Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Tailsbook collects, why, and your rights over it. Tailsbook is operated by GT, a registered sole trader (individuali veikla) in Lithuania, EU, and is the data controller for the processing described here. Contact: hello@tailsbook.com.

What we collect

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

AI processing of your content

Your answers and uploaded photos are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (the Claude API), to generate your book. Anthropic processes this data under a Data Processing Agreement with EU Standard Contractual Clauses and does not use it to train its models. You read and approve the result before anything is printed.

Who else processes your data

We share data only with the processors needed to run the service:

Some of these providers are outside the EU/EEA (for example, in the United States). Where that is the case, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your photos and story text for as long as we need them to create, deliver, and support your book (including reprints and the guarantee window). You can ask us to delete them at any time— see “Your rights” below — and we erase them within 30 days of a verified request. Billing and tax records (order and payment metadata only, never your pet photos) are retained as long as the law requires.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete (erasure, Art. 17), restrict, port, and object to the processing of your data. To exercise any of these, email hello@tailsbook.com and we will respond within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority — in Lithuania, the Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija (VDAI); in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission; in the UK, the ICO.

If you are a US resident

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access or delete your personal data, and opt out of marketing, by emailing hello@tailsbook.com. We do not sell or share your personal information for money, and we never sell your photos or stories.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to run the site, and — only after you accept — analytics and advertising cookies (including the Meta pixel) to measure how our ads perform. You can decline these without losing any site functionality.
